Jaren Soloff is a Registered Dietitian and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) specializing in supporting womenâs reproductive health. Her private practice, FULL CRCL provides nutrition counseling and lactation consultations to support women in finding a better relationship with food and body image and in turn supports families in raising competent, intuitive eaters. Informed by her own recovery journey and the hundreds of women she has counseled, Jarenâs experience comes full circle to support women in navigating pregnancy, birth and postpartum from the inside out.
I started my training as a pediatric RN in Switzerland in 1993 where I worked on the NICU at one of the leading university hospitals in Switzerland for several years before moving to the USA. During my years on the NICU I expanded my training in infant massage, baby wearing, reflexology, kinesthesia (conscious handling of the newborn), lactation, homeopathy, and flower essences which broaden my expertise tremendously. My work also included the supervision of pediatric nurses and midwife interns.
My years of conventional medical training fed my desire to step outside the typical medical model and go deeper into more personal care during pregnancy and the birth and postpartum period. After my move to the United States (Los Angeles) in 2002 I got certified as a birth doula in 2003 and as a postpartum doula in 2004 through DONA International.Â
I was the director of postpartum services at the Chapman Family Center from 2005 till 2008 which included assistant teaching of birth and postpartum doulas as well as running the postpartum doula agency.
In 2007 I became a DONA International approved postpartum doula trainer. The Bastyr University in San Diego welcomed me to their faculty in 2013 as a postpartum doula trainer until they closed their doors in 2015.
In short, my passion about all things pregnancy and postpartum knows no bounds and I strongly believe in a culture where birth is just, inclusive, and free of fear.
I live with my husband in Los Angeles and gave birth to our son in 2006 via surgery and in 2007 to our second son at home.
My pronouns are she/hers.
Rebecca has always been the friend to call when the baby wonât sleep or some encouraging advice is needed, and in 2016 she discovered she could actually make a career out of supporting families professionally. After training as a postpartum doula with CAPPA she quickly discovered a passion and talent for birth work as well, and trained as a birth doula with DONA at the Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery in San Diego, CA. Rebecca believes all families should have the support they need to thrive (not just survive) no matter their income, background, or birthing location. She has a wide range of experience supporting families through everything from home births, VBAC, and high-risk pregnancies, to newborn sleep strategies, twins and multiples, surrogacy, and miscarriage and loss support. In 2020, she became a Certified Lactation Educator and Counselor through the University of California San Diego, as the first step in the process toward her dream of becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Outside of birth work, Rebecca is passionate about innovative public health policy, filmmaking, birth photography, wine tasting, and her annual trip to Comic-Con.Â
Hi! I'm Kaela. While working with families providing postpartum support, it became clear that a huge missing piece of the puzzle was sleep support. Families were exhausted with no real solution towards sustainable sleep. They were unsure what to do and how to navigate their child's sleep. It was clear that the parents needed support and education around sleep. I made the decision to focus more on sleep and dove into education, accreditations and the like to best serve clients and their baby, toddler and child sleep needs. As a Sleep Consultant with a background in psychology and maternal mental health, I work well with families experiencing various mental health conditions on finding the right approach and results for their child's sleep.Â
Kaela is trained as a Postpartum Doula with DONA International, as a Newborn Care Specialist with Newborn Care Training Academy, and as a Sleep Consultant with Summer's Sleep Secrets and with the University of Hawaii at Manoa Sleep Psychology. She is also Sleep Science Accredited with the Association of Professional Sleep Consultants.Â
Dr. Jay Warren is a prenatal and pediatric chiropractor in San Diego where he works with new families everyday. Dr. Jay is the host of two popular podcasts âHealthy Births, Happy Babiesâ and âThe Dadhood Journeyâ, as well as an instructor for the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association). He has created online courses helping pregnant women learn prenatal bonding techniques and the New Dads Classes that help men with the transition into fatherhood. He is also the proud father to his son, Niko, who inspires him to strive to be a better person and better dad everyday.
Kathryn is the Owner and Director of One Moon Doula Services, which began in 2013 as a private doula practice and evolved to a boutique agency serving families all over San Diego. She is a Postpartum Doula (trained by three professional organizations: CAPPA, DONA, and ProDoula) and is a Certified Sleep Coach. She prides herself in cultivating a top notch team of professional Postpartum Doulas, Newborn Care Specialists, and Sleep Coaches, and matching them with families based on their needs. After doing so for 6+ years, she realized that the mentorship and support One Moon Doula provides to its network of doulas is really a resource that should be available to doulas everywhere, and launched The Doula Membership for Postpartum Doulas and NCS's.Â
Kathryn grew up in Virginia near Washington, D.C. and has lived New York, Ecuador, and California. She attended the College of William and Mary, and received her Masters in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University. (She worked for 15 years as a Mediator prior to becoming a Postpartum Doula). She now lives in Encinitas, California with her husband, two young sons, and their dog Luna.
"This is such a deeper conversation than contracts, but made me think about boundaries, self worth and communication in such a beautiful way."Â - Aaliyah, workshop participant

Yes! You get the equivalent of 2 months free!Â
Yep.Â
Hmm. Well, ours is not a âdoula training,â itâs meant as continuing education and support. If you have not yet taken a Postpartum Doula or NCS training, you may still want to find one of those. You could join here at the same time, or join after your training is complete. Ours is also not a membership faced primarily on marketing tips and techniques - we will have speakers on those topics periodicallyâŚ, but our focus is more on professional development - building your skill set, increasing your subject matter expertise, helping you assess what areas you may need improvement in, giving you a place to ask your questions, learn from mentors and guest speakers, feel supported. Itâs a place for ongoing support, for community and learning - a place to grow as a doula and as a human. The other thing is that it is ongoing - weâre always adding more. So, itâs not considered a 3 month or 6  month experience (though youâre free to join for whatever length of time youâd like). We keep the cost low because honestly we think it makes sense to participate year after year, and have continual access to this resource for career growth.Â
Well first, we always recommend that you watch our webinar, here, https://www.onemoondoula.com/getting-started-postpartum-doula/ to make sure you have a deeper understanding of whatâs involved when starting a career as a Postpartum Doula. If youâre certain about becoming a doula or NCS, you can still join us in the membership. There is plenty youâll learn while awaiting your training, or deciding on a training, or while waiting for your first clients. Or, join us when your training is complete. Up to you!
We created this offering because of how much the doula team at our agency appreciated and benefited from our team meetings and professional development offerings. The team was made up of new and experienced doulas. Some had 10+ years of experience. They still gained so much, and felt so grateful for the resources and support. As in any profession, there is always more to learn, and there are always ways to grow and improve. Plus, we all crave some community in the process. Join us!Â
Absolutely! Once youâre a member thereâs a special link you can use to invite others. (We even reward you by giving you 2 free months of membership for every 2 members that join from your invitation!)Â
You can apply to join! You will be required to fill out an application, attend an interview, provide references and proof of qualifications, etc. Then, youâll get access to weekly job opportunities and catered introductions to families in our area. Apply here.
Most families contacting us are not interested in live-in support. We will periodically post opportunities like this⌠in which case the best thing to do is follow us on Facebook. For now, weâre not accepting applicants for doulas not local to San Diego -  we would instead have you apply if and when thereâs a need.
